1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) for your use of MASA (the Malaysia Automotive App), its website and related services. By creating an account or using MASA, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use MASA.
2. MASA services
MASA is an automotive information and services platform. Depending on availability and eligibility, it may provide news, events, automotive programmes, Auto Points, rewards, vouchers, digital passcodes, notifications, EV charger and workshop information, MARii Rescue and battery-passport resources, MARii Academy, MARii Daftar, MARii eProc and other MARii or partner services.
Features may differ by device, account type, programme, location or time. A feature shown in MASA is not a guarantee that a product, reward, programme, charger, workshop, course or external service will always be available.
3. Accounts and security
- Provide accurate, current and complete registration and profile information.
- Keep your device, account credentials and OTP codes secure, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Use only your own account and do not impersonate another person or create accounts for fraudulent or misleading purposes.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account except to the extent caused by our failure to use reasonable care.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Break any law, infringe another person’s rights or submit false, harmful or unlawful information.
- Manipulate QR codes, Auto Points, rewards, vouchers, passcodes, eligibility records or redemption processes.
- Attempt unauthorised access, probe security, introduce malicious code, disrupt MASA or overload its systems.
- Copy, scrape, reverse engineer, resell or commercially exploit MASA except where expressly permitted by law or MARii in writing.
- Misuse automotive, rescue, location or safety information in a way that could endanger any person or property.
5. Auto Points, rewards and programmes
Auto Points, rewards, vouchers, digital passcodes, promotions and event activities may have additional eligibility, expiry, stock, redemption and programme rules displayed in MASA or on a linked page. Those additional rules form part of these terms for that programme.
Points and app benefits have no cash value unless expressly stated. We may withhold, correct, reverse or cancel benefits resulting from error, duplication, refund, misuse, fraud or breach of applicable rules. See the Auto Points Terms for further details.
6. Third-party and linked services
MASA may display or open maps, directions, websites, web views and services operated by MARii programmes, merchants or third parties. Their separate terms, privacy notices and charges may apply. MARii does not control independent third-party services and is not responsible for their content, availability, transactions or acts, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
7. Automotive, location and safety information
Vehicle, battery, EV charger, workshop, rescue, map, route, event and other automotive information is provided for general information and convenience. Details may be supplied by third parties and may change without notice. Confirm important information directly with the relevant operator or service provider before travelling, purchasing, charging, repairing or relying on it.
MASA is not an emergency service. If there is immediate danger or a medical, police, fire or road emergency, contact the appropriate emergency authority.
8. Intellectual property
MASA’s software, branding, design and original content belong to MARii or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use MASA for its intended personal or authorised business purpose. Third-party articles, trademarks and materials remain the property of their respective owners.
9. Availability, updates and account action
We may maintain, update, change, suspend or discontinue any part of MASA. Updates may be required for security, compatibility or continued access. We may restrict or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to investigate security concerns, fraud, misuse or a breach of these terms.
You may stop using MASA at any time. Account deletion is available through the signed-in app and is explained on our Account Deletion page.
10. Disclaimers and liability
MASA is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, permanent availability of any feature, or the completeness and accuracy of third-party information.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, MARii is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of or inability to use MASA or an independent third-party service.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may update these terms by publishing a revised version and updated date; material changes may also be communicated through MASA where appropriate.
